Ashland Amber, Calendra (2011)

It's an amber that drinks like an IPA. Cool, hoppy and very reserved like its name sake this brew leads a secret life like no other amber. Neither a bold sipper or a timid could-have-been, this one's a keeper. Too often ambers lean towards the bitter sides of ales neglecting the refreshing hoppy realms.
I still think cans of the new 'cassette' format for beers, but they serve a purpose and take up far less space in the recycling bin.
Pairs well with Grateful Dead bootlegs, Elyse and Boscoe.
