Goose Island India Pale Ale (2011)

What I like about this brew is how forward the taste is without being all punch. The taste is well thought out with an interesting balance of the malts and the hops. Too often an IPA is front loaded with hops and you lose the character of an IPA.

The roundness of the flavors is what is most appealing here. Each sip is defined. It's not one of these craft beers that only people who "like beer" will want to drink owing to the aforementioned balance.

I knew Chicago knew pizza, looks as if they got the beer side of the meal figured out, too.

Pairs well with Urge Overkill, Illinois Jacquet and Bo Diddley.
